Having been to Desert Hot Springs hundreds of times growing up, I am familiar with the area. My grandparents actually used to own a small mineral water spa motel out here and I loveeeeed going for weeks at a time. The place never had ANY guests (and subsequently, no money) but that’s how we all liked it, to ourselves!! Muahahaha. NO SHARE!
Well they lost the place and I didn’t go back for years. That was until I booked two nights at Sagewater Spa..
Having worked 6-7 days a week for over a year, I was in desperate need for some time off. I wanted to get away from it all. I canceled my trip to Vegas and my seat to the 2012 WSOP, and as fate would have it (fate being the keyword “gem” in a google search) Sagewater Spa popped up on the screen with endless 5 star reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor.
The only way to book a room is to call or e-mail. It was a very personal experience from the start, first e-mailing and then speaking to the owner over the phone. I knew we were in for a real treat!
OK, that was a long intro. So now I’m finally at Sagewater Spa, awesome. As instructed, I gave the hotel manager (owners daughter) Emily a ring 15 minutes prior to arriving. When we arrived, the first thing that brought a major smile to my face was the stunning pool. We headed to our room which was nice and cool, set to a chill 73 degrees for our arrival. The room was super clean, modern and above all, zen. The mattress, pillow and linens were incredibly comfortable. And the property itself was so zen, so beautiful.
Emily was very calming, friendly and professional. Helpful wouldn’t even begin to describe her, she was amazing.
I jumped in the pool straight away. I’m struggling to find the words to describe this experience to you. It just felt so right being in that water. I think humans were meant to do nothing but float around in that godwater. It’s so therapeutic and smells DEVINE. It’s fresh, natural spring mineral water shooting straight from the ground at over 100 degrees. There are no cleaning solutions in the water, it’s just pure, clean, water… your hands will never prune up. You need to experience it. It made me realize how much I really took my grandparents spa for granted when they had it. Guess I was too young to appreciate those things.
I could have spent all day, all night and even slept in that pool if it were up to me, but girlfriends have a way of wanting to go shopping.
With the heated pool, the nice hot desert with a crisp and cool breeze, it was heaven.
It was a memorable trip, and I love Sagewater Spa to death.
