Sagewater Spa is Rated #1 Desert Hot Springs Hotel - tripadvisor.com

“In such a minimalist space, one has little choice but to chill, and chill we did the next morning; lazing in the pool, lazing out of the pool, snoozing, eating coffee cake (it lived up to high expectations), sipping cucumber water, making new friends and blissing out.”

— LA Times

“The rooms have an almost ascetic appeal that brings to mind a groovy 1950s desert monastery.”

— Los Angeles Magazine

“Sagewater Spa…refreshingly redesigned by two Angelinos. Mid-century modernism is à la mode again.”

— San Francisco Magazine

“Sagewater Spa is like an oasis where you can escape from all of the pressures of life. It is tucked away and when you walk through the gate, you are taken away to an a place where you can literally just breathe.”

“Sagewater Spa is a magical place for so many reasons – physical, spiritual, and practical. On a physical level, the desert itself is incredibly therapeutic from the dry air, to the magnificent landscape, to the wonderful natural mineral pools like the one that Sagewater Spa has at the heart and soul of the property.”

“When I go to Sagewater it’s because I want to get away from making decisions. The decisions to be made there are pretty simple: should I go in the pool or the hot tub? Should I sit out and read or take a nap? Shiatsu or hot stone? Those decisions I can deal with. And floating in the pool there is the most therapeutic thing I can imagine. It’s like
being in an isolation tank, but with a better view.”

“We are leaving more blissful and rested than we have ever been – and we are serious hedonists! You are the best hosts! You made us feel so at home and welcomed, and the waters are so healing. I figure I’ve soaked about 12 hours a day. The amenities, comforts and massages were entirely on another level than any other place we’ve been.
The best of everything! Best of all – our hosts. You folks rule!”

— Santa Barbara Press

“Look and Feel: The scent of sage permeates the air around this cool, mid-centure modern motel. Seven cozy studios with kitchenettes form a J-shape around Sagewater’s centerpiece – a mineral spring fed pool filled with silky water. The only reason to leave its sensuous embrace is a spa treatment in the privacy of your own room. Desert light positively glows in this chic, streamlined retreat even as the sun sets over the nearby mountains.”

— Spa Magazine

“Some people come to the desert for a maximum of minimalism, and that’s what Sagewater delivers. It has just seven guest rooms, with polished concrete floors, blond wood furniture and a soothing white-and-sage color scheme. About the only distractions are two hot-spring-fed pools (one 90 degrees and the other a 105-degree pool-within-a-pool) and sweeping views of the valley below. Here, though, minimalism also means luxury, as guests enjoy Frette linens, a range of spa treatments and upscale bath amenities. If you need to chill, this is a good place to do it.”
